Company not showing in Annual Return Workflow

Setting the filing obligations for companies

If there are companies you know your firm has an obligation to file Annual Returns for which are not appearing in the Annual Return Workflow, this can be for several reasons:

  • The filing obligation has not been set correctly for the company

Registered Office only and Not Registered Office do not appear in the WORK tab

  • The Company has not been imported into Connectworks

  • Or the Company has filed within the calendar year or is not due to file until the following year

The Companies Office expects companies to be filed only once per calendar year, and Connectworks is configured with this process.

What complicates the process is that Connectworks does not get the year the filing is due, just the month.

e.g. A company is due to file in November but is filed late in February. Connectworks will reflect the filing as complete in February of that year, so it will not appear in the correct month later that year.

  1. In the WORK tab, type in the name of the Company (Limited is not required)

  2. The following statuses need to be selected

    1. Filing obligation (select all 3 options)

    2. Filing status (select All (no filtering))

      1. If the Company does not appear at this point

        1. Filing month (select any month)

If the Company is not appearing then, either the Company has the incorrect Annual Return filter set or is not in Connectworks.

  1. The filing obligation has not been set correctly for the company. To resolve this:
    Please read our article for more details on updating your filing obligations. Filing obligations can be updated in bulk by selecting all entities with the same filing obligation in the Clients>Companies list and then updating using the cogs dropdown.

  2. The company has not been loaded in the firm profile. To resolve this:
    Import the company into your firm profile AND ensure you update your registered office & filing obligations.
