How to update Shareholding based on the Annual Return filing month
This article will guide the user on the best practice for updating the Shareholding for Companies filing in a particular month
This article will guide you on how to use the Annual Return filing process where you are the Registered Office to ensure that you update the Shareholding for those Companies to comply with S87 of the Companies Act.
Navigate to the WORK tab and select the following:
- Filing Obligations (Files return, Checks return, No obligation, Undetermined)
- Filing month (This month, or select the month as required)
- Filing Status (All (no filtering))
Select "I would like to ..." - Export List (CSV), and format the spreadsheet based on the Responsibility.
The focus is on those companies defined as having "Office" in the responsibility. However, before starting the process to update the shareholding for those companies, it is a good practice to confirm that the responsibility is set correctly for all companies, especially those that are "filing only" as typically when the firm is filing the annual return, it is also the Registered Office
